A child adrift in chaos and strife
The Lord was the answer for my life
He gave me peace, hope and a wise friend.
He gave me joy and imagination to pretend.
To lose myself in poetry and prose.
Then the dark depth of an undisciplined mind
Crashed on sharp rocks to find
My Savior there waiting patiently for me,
Waiting quietly for me to see
To find my hope and strength in Him alone
The only true light shone.
I began again the walk that was
lost through fears,
That had been halted in unending tears,
Step after step away from darkness
I found my strength, joy, in Him my song.
