This was for the other day, but didn't get it posted until now....
Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of the Run with Laura that the Boggesses and many others put together last year. Many wore their shirts as a reminder of God's faithfulness to carry me through to the finish line. I have been cancer free for 10 months now...PRAISE GOD!
I was brought to tears multiple times throughout the day yesterday as I looked back on the last 365 days. At the time of the race, I was not sure if I would even feel good enough to be there. I couldn't talk (or even smile) because of the open burns all throughout my esophagus, throat, mouth and lips, I was under weight, nauseous, foggy and weak...yet somehow God gave me just the right amount of strength, energy and enthusiasm that day to walk the short course. Just a reminder of how faithful He has been...from the starting blocks to the finish line of this race! He carried me around many corners and through various long, ugly stretches of the race and used many of you to encourage me and to provide for our family. We have been blessed beyond measure and God is SO good!
Let this last year of mine (ours) be a reminder to you of God's sovereignty and His perfect timing. He is ALWAYS good...even when times are uncertain, difficult and seemingly impossible! He gets ALL the glory!
Every time you put on that purple shirt, I hope you are reminded of just that.
Praising Him,
Laura
