A Teachable Moment

"We should make plans--counting on God to direct us." Proverbs 16:9

You know the feeling--you had everything planned, then something happened along the way to turn your plans inside out.  You could think of these times as God's teachable moments.  While God commends you for formulating good and responsible plans, he also wants you to remain responsive to the changes and challenges of life.  Some changes strengthen you, others broaden your perspective and expertise.  Some of life's challenges surprise you, startle you, amaze you, or even mystify you.  All, however, come to you as opportunities from God to walk ever more closely with him.  Let the next "teachable moment" find you open to God's good plans for you.

Heavenly Father,

In your love, grant me the willingness to adapt my plan to your plans, my time to your purposes, my desires to your will.  Amen
