Zeal

Zeal means-

What comes to mind when you hear the word zeal?  Slobbering sports fans?  Wild-eyed fanatics? For most of us, those images aren't terribly appealing.
But the Bible's picture of zeal is different.  It's an image of commitment---of God to His people, and His people back to Him.  Scriptural zeal is a beautiful thing, a strong desire to do right by God and His creation
You can't go wrong being zealous for God.  A passion for serving Him--by serving the people around you---doesn't make a you a fanatic.  It makes you like Jesus!

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; be zealous therefore, and repent.  Revelation 3:19

For zeal for your house consumes me, and the insults of those who insult you fall on me.  Psalm 69:9

Whatsoever they hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.  Ecclesiastes 9:10

Zeal will do more than knowledge.
William Hazlitt
