It's a fact. Even the most dependable people fail us; our husbands, our parents, our friends. They don't mean to--they are only human just as we are. On the other hand, we can fully depend on God's faithfulness at all times.
What God says, He does. His promises are true. What He did for His people and the prophets of old. He does for us today. We can safely trust Him at His Word whatever the circumstance. Always remember: God cannot lie, and His faithfulness endures forever.

In hope of eternal life, which God that cannot lie, promised before the world began. Titus 1:2
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23
The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. 2Peter 3:9
