We all,...beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed. 2 Cor 3:18
Do you have a friend that seems to be better at just about everything? Do you think she is smarter, and can really grasp those big concepts that float around your head? Does spending time with this person challenge you to try harder at the things you would like to be good at?
Isn't the same way with Jesus? Don't we strive to be more Christ like? It's crucial for us to spend time in God's Word so we can connect with the person of Christ. Reading about the impact of Jesus' unconditional love for us should compel us to love without demand. His mercy and His free distribution of grace to the most undeserving make us ashamed of our tendency to withhold forgiveness and to judge.
We should remember that the more we are thankful the more we find it in our hearts to be more tender to others, to be forgiving and to offer grace. Also to know that when we do fall, the Lord is there and has clothed us in the beauty of His perfect righteousness. His amazing ways and unsurpassed wisdom motive and transform each of us. It might be hard to be content with your life as its when in His presence you are drawn to become more like Him.
Lord, help us to come into Your presence with our eyes and hearts wide open to all that You are and want us to become. Thank you for revealing Yourself to us and for the joy of basking in the greatness of Your glory.
Stay close to Jesus and you will never be the same.
Reflection: I often find myself giving grace to a difficult person in my life and I know the only way I am able to do that and to keep going forward to the next moment and the next is only because of God. I'm so grateful and happy I don't have to go through hard moments without his help. In the process of his grace and wisdom it has become easier to love this person in my life without leaning too much on Him, he has transformed me in that area.
