True Possessing

Jesus said, "Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you."  Matthew 5:48

Here, use mine for as long as you need it, she said handing her roommate a coat from her closet.  She knew a tight budget restricted her roommate's spending, and the coat would get her through the winter.

Sharing comes naturally when you recognize your possessions belong not to you but to God.  He has graciously given them to you to use and enjoy, and he delights to see your pleasure in sharing what you have with others.  In doing so, you develop generosity and prevent your possessions from possessing you.  You also become a partner with God by helping him answer someone else's prayer and fill someone else's need.

God will make you rich in every way so that you can always give freely.  2 Corinthians 9:11

Heavenly Father:
All I have comes from you.
Help me develop a
spirit of generosity and
sharing with others
so I may become more
like you.  Amen
