To gain understanding we must consider another's perspective apart from our own. In essence, we must walk in their shoes. Knowing God gives us a greater appreciation for and understanding of others. As we view people and life through His eyes, our view point changes. The things we once questioned, we now perceive with greater clarity and purpose.
To understand rather than to be understood is every Christian woman's quest for spiritual maturity. To understand while seldom understood is that quest realized. (The Bible Promise Book for Women)
Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Philippians 2:1-2
Yearn to understand first and to be
understood second.
